INTRODUCTION Climate is one factor that affects where organisms live. A group of ecosystems with similar climates and organisms is called a biome. Your team will investigate some key factors that make biomes different from one another.

TASK Congratulations!! Your team has been selected as members of an elite group of explorers on a scientific expedition. Your mission is to study the the major types of land ecosystems on Earth. You will collect information on climate conditions and organism found in each ecosystem. Be sure to pack plenty of clothing for a variety of weather. Have fun and good luck!   By the end of this lesson your team will be able to answer the following questions:   1. How does climate affect where organisms live? 2. What types of plants and animals are in your biome? 3.What determines the type of biome found in an area? 4. What are the ecological concerns of the biome?

PROCESS Each team consists of four members. Each member will be responsible for gathering information on a specific aspect of the biome. You will search several websites to retrieve your information. After all information is found your team will create a brochure using Micrsoft Publisher.
